Micromorph (2012)

percussion solo, live electronics (Max)

Duration: 51 minutes

The work is divided into two main sections (27 min and 24 min). These are again subdivided into several movements that might be performed independently. The music moves from the abstract sound in itself as in my tam-tam piece tonlos Los tonlos ((2007) to the strong pulsation as in the solo percussion piece Metrópoli (1999). Between these extremes I am exploring all kind of transformations from polymetric, polyrhythm, sound errors, clicks, noise, sonority, spectral filtering, granular synthesis, sampling, break-beats, subtractive synthesis, digital morphing, etc.
