Cinq Études – Composition for Cello & 3D Sound System

My project is Cinq Études, subtitled Composition for Cello and 3D Sound System. It belongs to the Royal Danish Academy of Music’s category for Artistic Research (KUV, Kunstnerisk Udviklingsvirksomhed). The RDAM’s knowledge base consists of artistic practice, development activities, and research, abbreviated as FOKU.

In the period 2020-2022, I was granted this activity with two reduction hours in 2020-2021 and three reduction hours in 2021-2022, corresponding to 300 working hours or eight workweeks of 37.5 hours each. Additionally, 0.5 reduction hours were granted to cellist Toke Møldrup, corresponding to 30 working hours.

Furthermore, sound engineer Aske Vang Rasmussen has assisted me in realizing the 3D spatialization and recording of the cello part in the score. As a reflection partner, I have collaborated with Anne Gry Haugland.
